Aroha is one of the pioneer of boutique-scale 'Bean To Bar' chocolate makers. It makes chocolate and chocolate products using a maximum of four ingredients.

Aroha produces sugar-free or no sugar added, vegan, gluten-free and 'clean' chocolate and chocolate hazelnut spreads for consumers with nutritional disadvantages (Diabetic) and those who care about healthy eating.

None of our products contain palm oil, lecithin, artificial colorings or artificial flavorings.

AROHA AND THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE 'KORU' SPIRAL

Aroha means 'Love-Passion' in the Maori language of the indigenous people of New Zealand.

The spiral in our logo is inspired by the sprout of a fern and is the symbol of 'KORU', which means 'New Beginnings' in Maori culture. 'KORU' also represents 'growth', 'solidity' and 'peace'.

If you look closely at the sprout of a fern, you will notice new sprouts in the form of constantly repeating intertwined spirals.

At Aroha Chocolate, we produce by constantly renewing ourselves but feeling the excitement and desire we felt on the first day, every day.

Just like this miraculous message of mother nature.

NEW ZEALAND PERIOD

2016-2017

The period when Aroha Chocolate was born as an idea. Our company founder Fulya Genç Ozdemir conducted research and studies on making chocolate from cocoa beans during her time in New Zealand.

FIRST PRODUCTS AND TESTS

2018-2019

The first products were launched in a 300 square meter detached villa in Zekeriyakoy, Sarıyer, Istanbul, and these products were tasted by consumers by renting stands in shopping malls in different locations. The first six product types to be put on the shelves were determined with the feedback collected as a result of these tastings.

FIRST TIME ON THE SHELVES

August 2019

The process of moving to Zekeriyakoy Shopping Center and the first meeting with the consumers. In August 2019, it was first placed on the shelves of an organic products supermarket and presented to the consumer. Türkiye's first 100% Cocoa, Dark Series were placed on the shelves. By the end of the year, the number of sales points reached 100. With the increase in production volume, the production area was increased from 70 square meters to 150 square meters.

GROWTH TREND

2020-2024

The number of sales points has exceeded 400.The production area has reached a total of 900 square meters.

The production capacity has increased to 20 tons per month.

Exports to Germany, USA, United Kingdom, Qatar, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates have started.

Spreadable Chocolate Hazelnut Creams have been added to the product range.

Türkiye's first vegan milk chocolate has been introduced to the market.

Ketogenic chocolate has been introduced to the market.

The number of product varieties has exceeded 100.

At the end of 2024, it was decided to move to the organized industrial zone, which is more suitable for investment and growth.

INTERNATIONAL PLAYER

2025-Today

In the beginning of 2025, the factory was moved to Bursa.

Brand registrations were made in the United Kingdom and a company was formed to grow there.

With the first distributorship agreement in the UK, the distribution of products to the ethnic market and organic product stores in the United Kingdom began.

The Founder, Fulya Genc Ozdemir.

Fulya Genc worked in digital marketing for global companies after completing her undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Boğaziçi University.

She went to New Zealand to gain experience (Working Holiday Visa) and received training on chocolate and attended chocolate workshops.

After spending a year in New Zealand, she returned to Türkiye and began her entrepreneurial journey to launch the 'Sustainable Chocolate Aroha' project.

In eight years, Aroha has become a very well-known chocolate, hazelnut spread and healthy snack brand in Türkiye. Today, the products of Aroha are available at two physical Aroha Stores (Located at Istanbul and Ankara), 300+ Organic Product Stores (All Turkiye) and at online platforms.

The new goal as of 2025: To create brand awareness in the UK, to bring the products together with consumers.
